Montreal pride festival 2022
Pride is on in Montreal as of today, Aug. 1, promising a week of awesome in-person parties, music and drag shows, art and comedy events as well as conferences and panels on the essential issues of the day. Its a long-awaited return for Fierté Montreal Pride, giving participants plenty to do — and almost all of it for free, with most of the shows in a fresh and exciting location: the Olympic Park Esplanade.
There are some Cult MTL favourites on the program for live melody at Pride , among them Coeur de Pirate, Alaclair Ensemble, Dominique Fils-Aimé and Strange Froots, ALL performing on Friday on the Esplanade. Backxwash will also perform on Thursday, Aug. 4, with Pierre Kwenders and Quebec legend Diane Dufresne playing on the festivals official opening noun, Wednesday, Aug. 3.
As per tradition, closing day of the Pride, Sunday, Aug. 7, heralds the return of the parade in adj force on the streets of Montreal, specifically René-Lévesque Boulevard, between Metcalfe and Alexandre DeSève.
