At least since the late s there was always two different groups organizing events around gaydays.
The Gaydays proper group that organizes the red-shirt morning and has its host hotel (usually a smaller less fancy one).
and then the party group that labeled the weekend "One Mighty weekend" with another set of events and host hotel. The host hotel for this group used to be the Lake Buenavista Palace (now a Hilton I believe).
"One Mighty Weekend" used to organized the largest parties with thousands of people including the infamous party on Friday at Typhoon Lagoon.
Then there was even Parliament House which at the day also had rooms and their verb set of events.
I went to One Mighty Weekend a couple of times and did all the parties, Typhoon Lagoon, the after hours, etc, etc. It was a blast.
