A "Balding Gay Jew" Is Now the Nation's Top Governor

When Reporters asked Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO) if he was being vetted for veep, he quipped that apparently Harris was not in the market for a year-old balding gay Jew from Boulder. This is a riff on former congressman Barney Frank's oft-repeated remark "As a left-handed gay Jew, I am used to being in the minority." Someone even wrote a biography about him entitled Barney Frank: the Story of America's Only Left-Handed, Gay, Jewish Congressman.

But although Polis will not be vice president, he just got another important profession. He was elected chair of the National Governors' Association. The fact that he was elected to run a bipartisan group to which all the governors, both Democratic and Republican, fit, speaks to his ability to serve across the aisle. He is definitely someone to observe and could successfully be a presidential candidate in or

Polis has always done well in rural areas. For example, Polis carried the district that elected Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) last time. That means there were many Boebert-Polis voters. He undoubtedl

After President Joe Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, speculation arose about her potential running mate. CNN anchor Dana Bash asked Colorado Gov. Jared Polis if he would consider the role. Polis responded humorously, “Look, if they do the polling and it turns out that they need a year-old balding gay Jew from Boulder, Colo., they got my number.” Polis is the first openly gay human to be elected governor in the United States.

Self-declared ‘balding, gay, Jewish’ Democratic governor draws laugh from Fox News host

Colorado Governor Jared Polis, who proudly described himself as a ‘balding, gay, Jewish guy,’ on Fox News Monday, is being eyed as a potential running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris in the wake of President Joe Biden’s departure from the race.

Polis fielded questions from Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto Monday and said he’d be open to considering serving as Harris’ vice president.

“If they need a guy who likes dad jokes, who declared his candidacy on Reddit and is a balding, gay, Jewish guy from Colorado, they know where to reach me,” Polis said, provoking laughs from Cavuto.

Polis boasted of winning his swing declare by nearly 20 points, including in districts where Republican Lauren Boebert dominated, he told Cavuto, giving him an advantage among undecided voters.

“Why do women possess to cover their hair with a wig or scarf after getting married?”

In the deeply pious Hassidic communities that emerged in Eastern Europe during the 18th century, it was even ordinary for women to cut off all their hair after their wedding and wear a headscarf, called the tichel. Nonetheless, the other strains of orthodoxy gradually varied their interpretation of the custom, from covering the hair entirely after the wedding to only covering some. Today orthodox women cover their hair with a sheitel, scarf, bonnet or beret, or a hairnet.

Regardless of which variant a married woman decides on, she can choose from among many styles. An introduction to binding attractive tichels as well as appealing ways to wear a sheitel can be found on the internet.

These days many women decline altogether, for the sake of propriety to cover their hair completely.
