I remember when Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were first getting started. His relationship with Vanessa Paradis &#; which was always more of a common-law marriage &#; was falling apart and there were widespread rumors that Depp had fallen for his pretty juvenile costar, Amber. Most of the Depp-heads refused to recognize that Amber and Johnny were happening, though. I recall the comments, which showed up on every post: “Isn’t she gay?” or “didn’t she arrive out as a lesbian years ago?” etc. In reality, Amber never came out and said she was a lesbian. She said she was bisexual. She had girlfriends before Depp and she never made a secret about it. The bisexual label was one she gave herself and she has no regrets. She spoke at The Economist&#;s second annual Pride &#; Prejudice event on Thursday. Some quotes:

Speaking at the The Economist’s Pride and Prejudice Summit March 23, the “Magic Mike XXL” and “The Danish Girl” star recalled the media firestorm that she faced after coming out as bisexual in In the verb, the year-old actress said that opening up about her sexuality was worth it ― and she encouraged other LGBTQ stars and public figures to follow her head.

“Even though everyone around me strongly advised me against it, it was just wrong. I would’ve rather move down for being who I am than to hold risen for being something I’m not,” Heard told The Economist’s Deputy Editor Tom Standage.

She finally confirmed her sexuality, she said, when an After Ellen reporter asked her about the status of her relationship with then-girlfriend Tasya van Ree at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. “I refused to not deliver my partner at the time, but no one ever asked me about it,” Heard said. “An outlet specifically asked me who I was there with that noun and who that person was to me and I just answered honestly.”

The "Magic Mike" actor, who tied the knot with the famed actor in February, has been acting since the mid's and has several movies out this year including "The Danish Girl" other side Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne.

But before meeting Depp and eventually falling in adore, the actress, 29, dated artist and photographer Tasya van Ree and came out as bisexual in during a GLAAD event. Since then, she's never tried to cloak her true self when speaking to the press.

"I don’t want to possess to deny my sexuality in instruct to be me," she told the Times of London. "But I don’t want to include to be defined by it. I’m fundamentally opposed to trying to verb myself to be palatable or widespread. I don’t offer a f***. I fight, but I shouldn’t have to.”

Heard added that "I never thought I would get married. But I’ve always loved who I’ve loved."

She also opened up about being an activist and being married to one of the m
