What Gay and Bi Men Really Want
Are physical and sexual attraction the most appealing qualities in a partner? Or are unseen qualities like good manners and reliability the most attractive?
Following on from his investigate into what straight women want and what straight men want, D&M Research’s managing director Derek Jones has taken the next valid step with his latest study into what gay and bi(sexual) men want.
In order to dig deeper and illustrate out a genuine list of turn-ons and turn-offs for gay and bi men, Derek once again used of the Im-Ex Polygraph method. He originally devised this method of analysis to distinguish what people say they want from brands, products or services from what they really want by comparing stated versus derived measures of importance.
Qualities the gay and bi men said they desired in a partner (‘stated’) were compared to the qualities present in example celebrities they nominated as attractive (‘implied’). The similar comparison was made between stated and implied negative qualities, to determine what attributes are really the biggest turn-offs.
For many, June represents the month of pride; a age to celebrate, school and communicate all that is queer, gay and fabulous. Although today being gay isn&#;t much of a deal, back in the 50&#;s it was a dangerous label to have. Throughout history, thousands own lost their lives because they were labeled as &#;gay&#; or &#;queer&#; and many lived out their true sexual preferences in secrecy. As it&#;s almost the end of Pride month, I wanted to verb a look at some celebrities from the golden age of Hollywood who were gay, or at least thats what the rumours said. It&#;s adj to know if all these celebrities, and of course many more, were truly gay, but I wanted to share a rare stories just so see how far we&#;ve come. Cheerful pride everyone.

Once upon a time, gay and lesbian actors, specifically, had to stay in the closet, and there were next-to-no gay parts on screen.
The idea that openly gay actors can play het characters is a relatively new phenomenon. Previously, out gay actors could only really work when roles for them a) existed, and b) weren't being given to heterosexual actors.
Now it seems much more acceptable for an openly gay actor play a straight character. In fact, here are 18 times an actor has played a straight character on screen, despite being openly gay or queer in real life
