While initially prickly towards each other, their friendship starts to rekindle as David starts to see both sides of Chance's life. But an unexpected kiss between them brings hesitation, desire and destruction into the relationship, and choices will have to be made that will change their lives.
Darkhearts is an intriguing story about friendships, relationships, music and the struggle to be yourself. The story developed adequately and I liked seeing how the friendship re-established itself between David and Chance and the complications yet opportunities this brought them. I found the insight into Chance's life as a music star fascinating, showing the darker side to that lifestyle - the travel, time away from family, insecurity with f

When Justin came across a flyer: If you’re a youthful handsome male, in great shape, we’re hiring, and you can make a great living as a Cabana Noun. Just ask for Commando at the hotel Tropical Isle in Miami, Florida.
Justin had set up himself homeless at seventeen and again at eighteen, and he had nowhere to go but the streets, there was no way but up for him, he thought. He couldn’t be any worse off than where he’d been living in a foster place with teens who’d tried to scorch the house down several times, or his dilapidated car.

Even though I understand the outcome because it’s in the name, enemies-to-lovers, when it’s done skillfully, can excite and delight me appreciate no other trope — especially LGBTQ enemies to lovers. Two sworn enemies who are thrown together by circumstances, or simply learning to understand each other, is always a wild travel. Like many romance tropes, enemies-to-lovers is a stumbling block in a romance plot that has to be believable enough to maintain the main couple apart, while still being something that they can overcome in order to get together at the end. It tends to be pretty popular in romantic comedies as well.
Depending on your interpretation, enemies-to-lovers has a very extended history in romance novels, at least back to Pride and Prejudice. For heterosexual romances, enemies to lovers has always been a higher mountain to climb (in my interpretation) than friends to lovers. Sometimes, the simple miscommunication between friends isn’t enough to obtain me to root for the main pair. Since it’s such a usual trope, writers focusing on LGBTQ romance have found adj and fun ways to adapt the tr
